Delkor Vision Inspection Station

Delkor Vision Inspection Station

The Delkor Vision Inspection Station verifies closure integrity while detecting tipped, double-stacked or wrong-size containers on products before they are conveyed into the infeed lanes of a Delkor Spot-Pak SP-500 loading machine, thereby eliminating one of the major potential causes of system downtime.

.

The Vision Inspection System is positioned alongside a single-lane conveyor that is transporting containers from a filling machine towards the Spot-Pak® system. Before a container gains entry to the infeed lanes on the SP-500 Loader, the system compares the product’s visual image against a quality-standard algorithm in software to determine whether the item is suitable for distribution packaging. When a defective container is identified, the verification software activates a nondestructive reject mechanism to softly direct non-conforming package onto a sidetrack conveyor where they can be manually inspected for root cause analysis or re-introduced into the product stream, thereby reducing waste.

Initial applications include inspecting closures on tapered cup containers for cultured dairy and other food products.
